absolutely, to start looking at correlations etc you have to export the data out into a tool like Excel or indeed SPSS

right tool for the right task and all that!

I have discovered that the most useful tool for analyzing traffic is produced by Microsoft!

Google's various tools are cooperative enough to allow export to excel. That's where you do all the work and really figure out what is up with your site.

Hi Brian

Aviemore Highland Resort pretty much is the only major conference venue in Aviemore I think and so I wouldn't really expect conference organisers to book the conference hall at the Resort but the accommodation (about 2 miles away) at the Hilton.

But I agree with you that an issue like this probably involves addressing multiple outlet options and getting smart in looking at the kind of solution you suggest.

Interesting study - would be interesting to see how context of the conferences that are regularly staged in Aviemore impact this - not least the Scottish political parties:

Are conferences recommending specific hotels over others, and thus forcing the observable trend?

If so a potential solution would be stronger commercial ties with conference organisers to push deals and packages to attract greater interest from members.

Thanks Jaime.

I'll probably say something about Google Ad Planner as well in a future post which is a rather cool toy I've only just come across.
